I use a microfiber cleaning cloth with water and nothing else on mine and it has been much easier and looked better. I haven't had any issues with the panels looking good since I learned the biggest problem is the cleaners people put on stainless (that's where the smears and streaks come from - and if you change products it gets worse). We were given a loaner when the dispenser models were delayed and decided not to change it out. I didn't get panels because we had thought we would have the dispenser and were cautioned against drips on the wood. I have had stainless nearly 9 years with no regrets. I would at least make that inquiry if there is a chance of change. I believe Thermador is delivering the units differently now (the panels were shipped separately), but I suspect you would still be able to change the stainless to cabinet panels down the road. You could do stainless - and if there is a chance you will redo the kitchen, you won't waste panels matching the old kitchen. Does your current set up give you enough freezer space? I have a 30/18 combination (coming up on 9 years - can't believe that) and would have loved the wider freezer, but there was only so much room.

If you can get the floor models, it sounds like that is what you prefer, but if not I will add my plug for a 30/24 Thermador (or any of the ones they make and put a different name on). Does any one think it could be due to faulty door seals? In the early years we had several service calls and found the level of expertise quite lacking so are trying to do some research before the service technician arrives. Turns out there's now only one SZ authorized repair service in all of Southern California (which I'll arrange to come out). Since we just vacuumed the condenser two weeks ago he then said we need to have it serviced. Called Sub Zero 24*7 number and all he could offer was to vacuum the condenser since no code popped up.

Then today for the first time we had a rising temp in the refrigerator issue went to 49 when usually 34. So now I've got everyone trained to 'slam' the freezer drawer when closing such that the freezer drawer and refrigerator door are no longer lined up perfectly as before all the 'slamming'. No code pops up like several years ago when a Sub Zero technician advised us to turn off then turn back on the unit, which resolved the rising temp in the freezer issue (as it had been left slightly ajar). Also for the past few months we've had an intermittent rising temp in the freezer issue. For the past couple of years we've had to wait 15-20 secs before back-to-back closing/reopening with various family members and guests struggling to yank mainly the refrigerator door but also the freezer drawer open. We've had our Sub Zero 650 since 2000 so now out of 12yr warranty.
